Flaws in browser plug-ins remain one of the most popular vectors for drive-by attacks on the web. Thats got everything to do with the fact that a lot of people simply dont pay enough attention to update notifications. Flash Player, Java, and Adobe Reader might be good about telling you theres an update available, but they make it far too easy for users to simply click off the alert and go about their business.

Adobe has finally seen the light, at least when it comes to Flash. Version 11.2.202.228, of the ubiquitous plug-in finally introduces an automatic update option at least if youre using a Windows computer.

Swarming and transporting

The orange-colored vehicle begins moving with a quiet whirr. Soon afterwards the next shuttles begin to move, and before long there are dozens of mini-transporters rolling around in the hall. As if by magic, they head for the high-rack storage shelves or spin around their own axis. But the Multishuttle Moves® — is the name given to these driverless transport vehicles — are not performing some robots’ ballet. They are moving around in the service of science. At the Fraunhofer Institute for Material Flow and Logistics IML in Dortmund, Germany, researchers are working to harness swarm intelligence as a means of improving the flow of materials and goods in the warehouse environment. In a research hall 1000 square meters in size, the scientists have replicated a small-scale distribution warehouse with storage shelves for 600 small-part carriers and eight picking stations.

Do any of the readers have company accounts with HSBC?

Have you tried their HSBC Business app?

I have no issue whatsoever telling you that its the ugliest piece of rubbish Ive seen from a multi billion dollar company, ever.

I wonder precisely which executive approved this application for publication?

Its horrific. Utterly horrific. When I was forced to use it in anger on Friday standing outside the Apple Store, I felt like a total plumb.

Being forced to use the app to make a transfer standing on Regent Street has been the mobile low light of 2012.

HSBCs Executive Team clearly has no idea which end of a mobile phone to use for speaking.

Internet Stocks Trade: Long China, Short U.S.

Posted by Brodie Boyce On March - 19 - 2012 NO Comment

In 2009, many of my most successful trades as well as my top pick from the stock picks competition were Chinese tech stocks and after a difficult 2010 year for most of the Chinese market, I think it might be a good time to consider opening a new trade. What would that be? Quite simply betting on China’s Internet leaders and going short on the U.S. ones. Why Chinese stocks?

As I’ve said, this is not so much about being negative about U.S. stocks, very far from it but rather about these companies being in a very specific and favorable climate. Her
